Rūznāmah-i Millī (Jarīdah-i Millī; Qājār)

This facsimile reprint preserves the complete first-year run of the most significant newspaper to emerge from the Āz̤arbāyjān Constitutional Movement, comprising all thirty-seven issues published in Tabrīz in 1324 H.Q. (1906). The newspaper appeared under two successive titles: Rūznāmah-i Millī for issues one through nine, and Jarīdah-i Millī from issue ten through thirty-seven. As the official organ of the Āz̤arbāyjān Provincial Assembly, it was the first newspaper published in Tabrīz following the proclamation of the Constitutional Decree, and one of the most influential voices of the Constitutional Revolution during the Qājār period. Its pages document the political debates, social upheavals, and popular aspirations of a transformative moment in Iranian history, capturing the immediate response of the people of Āz̤arbāyjān to the establishment of constitutional governance and the convening of the first National Consultative Assembly in Tihrān. These issues constitute an irreplaceable primary source for scholars of Iranian press history, the Constitutional Revolution, and the political culture of early-twentieth-century Tabrīz and the Qājār state.
