Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers regarding orders, downloads, and institutional access.
Orders, Payments & Refunds
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards and PayPal. For UK-based institutions, we also accept BACS Bank Transfer and UK Cheques.
If your institution requires a Proforma Invoice before payment, please contact our sales team, and we will generate one for you immediately.
What currency are prices listed in?
All prices on Opars are listed and processed in British Pounds (£). If you are purchasing from outside the UK, your bank will handle the currency conversion at their standard rates.
What is your refund policy?
Due to the nature of digital content, all sales are final once a file has been successfully downloaded. However, refunds may be considered if:
- The request is made within 7 calendar days of purchase.
- AND the digital product has not yet been downloaded.
If a file is technically defective and cannot be replaced, we will issue a full refund. Please contact support immediately if you believe an error has occurred.
Accessing Your Ebooks
How do I download my purchased ebooks?
Your files are available immediately after purchase. To download them:
- Log in to your Opars account.
- Navigate to My Account > Downloads.
- Click on the Title Bar of the book you wish to access. This will expand the menu to show all available files.
- Click the button labeled Download.
The PDF file will automatically begin downloading to your device.
Do my download links expire?
No. Unless explicitly stated otherwise on the product page, all Opars downloads include Lifetime Access and Unlimited Downloads via your account dashboard. However, we recommend you download and back up your files securely immediately after purchase.
What format are the ebooks?
Our ebooks are provided as high-quality, DRM-free PDF files. They are compatible with all major PDF readers (Adobe Acrobat, Preview, etc.) on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android devices.
Institutional Services & IP Access
Do you offer IP-based authentication?
Yes, IP-based access is available as an optional add-on service for institutions. This allows your users to access content without individual logins.
- Standard Fee: £99 per year (renewing in November).
- Fee Waiver: If your institution’s purchase volume exceeds £1000 in a calendar year, the IP access fee for the following year is waived.
Note: This service is provided “as is”. Compatibility with specific EZproxy setups or local firewalls is not guaranteed.
How do institutional users log in?
If your institution has an active subscription, you do not need a personal username or password. Ensure you are connected to your institution’s secure network (on-campus or via EZproxy/VPN), then use one of these two methods:
Method 1: The “Welcome” Banner (Recommended)
When you visit any page on Opars, look for a light blue banner at the very top of the screen. It will say: “Welcome! Your IP is recognised as a member of [University / Library Name].” Click the Continue to access button to log in instantly.
Method 2: The Login Page
Navigate to the standard Login page. Ignore the username/password fields. Instead, look for the blue box above the form and click the large button labeled “Login as a member of [University / Library Name]”.
I am on campus, but I don’t see the institutional login banner.
Please ensure you are not using a personal VPN (like NordVPN or ExpressVPN), as this masks your institutional IP address. You must be connected directly to your institution’s network. If the problem persists, try clearing your browser cache or refreshing the page.
Can I still use my personal account while on campus?
Yes. If you have a personal username and password, simply ignore the top institutional banner and use the standard login form on the login page.
Can we trial IP access before purchasing?
Yes. We understand the importance of ensuring technical compatibility with your library systems. We offer a 14-day trial for institutions wishing to test IP-based access. Please contact our support team to set up your trial IP range.
What are the EZproxy settings for Opars?
If you use EZproxy to manage remote access, please add the following stanza to your config.txt file to ensure seamless authentication for Opars:
Title Opars – Persian eBooks
URL https://www.opars.com/?login
HJ www.opars.com
DJ opars.com
How do I configure Vendor and Fund codes for MARC Field 980?
To populate subfields $f and $u in the 980 field of your MARC records automatically, please contact our support team. We will add your institution’s specific codes to your profile so they appear on all future records.
Librarians: MARC Records & Metadata
How do I access the MARC21 record for a book?
We provide full RDA/MARC21 records for institutional cataloging. There are two ways to access them:
Method A: The Downloads Dashboard (Recommended)
Go to My Account > Downloads. Click the blue MARC button located in the header of the book title. This opens a viewer where you can click “Copy Record” to grab the data.
Method B: The Product Page
Navigate to the specific book’s product page on our shop. Scroll down to the tabs (next to Description) and click the MARC Record tab.
Why is the MARC button grey / showing “No MARC”?
If the button is greyed out, it means a bibliographic record has not yet been generated for that specific title. Our cataloging team is constantly updating the database. Please check back later or contact support if you require a record urgently.
I found a cataloging error. How do I report it?
We strive for 100% accuracy, but if you spot an error (e.g., typo in transliteration or incorrect pagination), you can report it directly from the viewer:
- Open the MARC record (via Downloads or Product Page).
- Click the orange Report Issue button in the viewer.
- Type a brief description of the error in the text box.
- Click Submit Report.
This instantly creates a ticket linked to the specific Book ID and MARC data, allowing our bibliographic team to correct the master record quickly (typically within 24 hours).
Usage Rights & Restrictions
Can I resell or redistribute the PDF files?
No. Purchasing a digital product grants you a perpetual, non-transferable licence for personal or institutional use only. Reproduction for distribution, resale, public posting, or sharing outside your permitted licence scope is strictly prohibited under copyright law.
Can I use automated software to download books?
No. You agree not to engage in automated scraping, harvesting, or bulk data mining of the Site without our prior written consent. We may suspend accounts if we reasonably suspect such activity.
