Rūznāmah-yi Īrān (Nīmah dawlatī; Qājār, Pahlavī)

The second period of the newspaper Īrān, which began on the 9th of ‘Aqrab 1295 Shamsī, corresponding to the year 1334 Qamarī, has been published regularly despite the changes that have occurred. Various individuals have managed it, and for a time during this period, the Īrān newspaper was a semi-official governmental publication. Sayyid Ḥusayn Ardabīlī al-Kasīst took over the management and writing of the Īrān newspaper, and after his death, the management of the newspaper from the third decade of the Burj-i Asad 1296 Shamsī was entrusted to Mīrzā Muḥammadkhān Malakzādah and was managed daily with the help of his brother, Mr. Malak al-Shu‘arā Bahār. In the year 1297 Shamsī, the management of the newspaper was the responsibility of Malakzādah, and the editorship was handed over to Mīrzā ‘Alī Akbar Khān Khorāsānī. It is necessary to recall that in the Burj-i Ḥūt 1296 Shamsī, under the cabinet of the late Mustawfī al-Mamālik, all newspapers were suspended, and only the semi-official Īrān newspaper managed by Mr. Malakzādah was published. In the Burj-i Asad of the year 1299 Shamsī, by the cabinet of Mushīr al-Dawlah; the management of the semi-official Īrān newspaper was entrusted to Mīrzā Ismā‘īl Khān Yagānī, and he was the manager of the newspaper. During this period, the Īrān newspaper received monthly grants from the government until the 1st of Ḥamal 1302 Shamsī, and therefore, it was a semi-official government newspaper.
