Mr ʻĀṣimī began publishing the cultural and social periodical “Kāvah” in Persian in Munich from Farvardīn 1342 (March-April 1963). This publication particularly became an outlet for the thoughts and works of Iranian writers and researchers who were residing in Europe.
As Mr ʻĀṣimī himself stated in an interview, he named his periodical “Kāvah” to honour the memory of an important publication that had been published half a century earlier in Berlin by renowned Iranian expatriate scholars such as Sayyid Ḥasan Taqīzādah, ʻAllāmah Muḥammad Qazvīnī, and Muḥammad ʻAlī Jamālzādah. It was a Persian-language publication printed in Berlin, and is considered one of the most important sources regarding ancient Iranian studies.

The publication of Kāvah is divided into two periods. The first period began on 18 Rabīʻ al-Avval 1334 AH/24 January 1916 and continued until issue 15, dated 18 Dhū al-Qaʻdah 1337 AH. This period coincided with World War I, during which Kāvah was a political publication primarily supporting Germany and its allies (Ottoman Empire, Austria, and Bulgaria). In the new period, which ran from 1338 to 1340 AH, publishing monthly issues regularly, and following the end of the World War, Kāvah abandoned its political stance and adopted a literary-cultural content. During this period, it published articles concerning literature and ancient Iranian history.

The editing and printing costs of this magazine were consistently subsidised by the German government, and this arrangement had a political/cultural sponsorship nature.
