One of the countries that holds strategic importance for the Islamic Republic of Iran is the neighboring country of Iraq, where Iran's effective presence can leverage numerous potential opportunities to reproduce soft power.

Due to geographical proximity, ethnic commonalities, shared languages in some regions of the two countries, common cultural heritage, and scientific exchanges, Iran has favourable potential to enhance its soft power in Iraq. An examination of some of Iran's sources of power in Iraq reveals that the Islamic Republic of Iran possesses multiple sources of soft power in political, cultural, and scientific arenas. This has increased Iran's soft power coefficient in Iraq compared to other regional and international powers.

The book "Sources of Soft Power of the Islamic Republic of Iran in New Iraq" is an effort to describe and analyze Iran's soft power sources in Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein. It scrutinizes the soft power resources in three domains: cultural, political, and public diplomacy (scientific and cultural).
