Dānish, Rūznāmah-i (Dār al-Funūn, Qājār) – Collection of 2 years including 14 issues

The newspaper Dānish was printed and published under the supervision of ʻAlīqolī Mukhabir al-Dawlah, the then Minister of Sciences, starting from Tuesday, 23 Rajab 1299 AH. It was produced with the investment of the Ministry at the special scientific printing house located at the Dār al-Funūn School in Tehran. On both sides of the title of this publication, it was stated that the carriers of this newspaper in Tehran and elsewhere in other cities of Iran are not entitled to demand payment, and the announcement of this newspaper is free of charge. Additionally, it was mentioned under the title that the newspaper Dānish is printed twice a month and distributed free of charge. Anyone who sends news and information related to the sciences and education to the Department of the Ministry of Sciences will have it published under their name.

The contents of the newspaper Dānish mainly consist of news from various ministries and scientific sections, and each issue also includes footnotes. The footnotes in the newspaper began with the third issue. Announcements are also among the other contents of the newspaper Dānish, with a total of three announcements printed during this publication's period. One announcement pertained to examining physicians and pharmacists, and two announcements were about books. As previously indicated, the newspaper Dānish was managed by ʻAlīqolī Mukhabir al-Dawlah, with Muḥammad Kāẓim ibn Aḥmad, a chemistry teacher at Dār al-Funūn, serving as his first assistant. This publication was printed at the same school's printing house. At that time, the head of the printing house and the printing worker at Dār al-Funūn was named Mīrzā ʻAbbās. Other writers of the newspaper whose signatures appeared at the bottom of articles included Ḥāj Nujm al-Mamālik and Muʻtamad al-Salṭanah Mīrzā Maḥmūdkhān.

The last issue of Dānish was distributed on 16 Ṣafar 1300 AH, and since it was published twice a month, a total of fourteen issues of the newspaper Dānish were released.
