Ravāyat-i taskhīr: ravāyatī taṣvīrī az taskhīr-i lānah-yi jāsūsī

Ravāyat-i Taskhīr (The Takeover Narrative) is a bilingual pictorial chronicle of one of the most consequential episodes in modern Iranian and American diplomatic history: the seizure of the United States Embassy in Tihrān by Iranian student militants on 13 Ābān 1358 (4 November 1979). Spanning 346 pages and produced under the auspices of the International Institution of Studying Arrogance (Bunʹyād-i Baynalmilalī-i Istikbārshināsī-i 13 Ābān) and the Student Basij Organisation, the volume draws on archival photographs, press cuttings, and official documents to reconstruct the full arc of the 444-day crisis. Arranged into four thematic sections — the period before the Islamic Revolution, the occupation through to the hostages' release, press coverage, and a guide to the associated museum — the work offers a richly illustrated primary-source perspective on an event its compilers regard as the Revolution's defining second act.
