Authored by Farīdūn Pūr Bahman, Pūshāk dar Īrān-i bāstān offers a detailed historical analysis of costume and dress throughout the ancient eras of Īrān. The text investigates the evolution of apparel from pre-historic times through the dynasties of the Medes, Achaemenids, Seleucids, and Parthians, to the Sassanid Empire. Utilising evidence from bas-reliefs, numismatics, and classical texts, Pūr Bahman reconstructs the garments of diverse social groups, including royalty, the military, and the clergy, while also addressing women's attire and textile production. This work provides a vital window into the aesthetic and sociological aspects of life in ancient Īrān.
