فروغ فرخزاد شاعر معاصر ایرانی است که در سال ۱۳۱۳ شمسی به دنیا آمد و در ۱۳۴۵ در یک سانحه اتومبیل جان باخت. او پس از آشنایی با ابراهیم گلستان به سینما نیز علاقهمند شد و در سال ۱۳۴۱ با همراهی گلستان، فیلم مستند کوتاه «خانه سیاه است» (درباره جذامیان) را ساخت. فروغ همچنین در سال ۱۳۴۲ در نمایش «شش شخصیت در جستجوی نویسنده» نوشته «لوئیجی پیراندلو» و به کارگردانی پری صابری بازی کرد. مزار او در گورستان ظهیرالدوله قرار دارد.
