Safarnāmah-i Harāt: maʼmūr-i Nāṣir al-Dīn Shāh

This edition of Safarnāmah-i Harāt presents a historically significant travelogue written by an anonymous envoy of Nāṣir al-Dīn Shāh Qājār. Dating back to 1851 (1267 AH), the text documents a diplomatic and observational mission from Tihrān to Harāt during a volatile period in the shared history of Īrān and Afghanistan. The author records detailed daily accounts of the route, the socio-political climate of the region, and the events surrounding the death of the local ruler, Yār Muḥammad Khān, and the subsequent succession of Ṣayd Muḥammad Khān.
