Tab‘īdīhā va tab‘īdgāhhā-yi ‘aṣr-i Pahlavī

This comprehensive historical study, titled Tab‘īdīhā va tab‘īdgāhhā-yi ‘aṣr-i Pahlavī and authored by Raḥīm Rūḥbakhsh Ilāh’ābād, investigates the systematic use of internal exile as a mechanism of political suppression in Īrān during the Pahlavī dynasty (1925–1979). Published in Tihrān by Markaz-i Asnād-i Inqilāb-i Islāmī, the work utilises extensive archival documents and oral histories to document the lives of banished dissidents, with a particular focus on the Shī‘ah clergy who opposed state policies such as the Uniform Dress Law and the abolition of the veil. The text delineates the harsh conditions of various exile locations, including remote islands and garrisons like Qal‘ah-i Falak al-Aflāk, and analyses how these isolated figures—ranging from high-ranking mujtahids to political activists—maintained communication networks and continued their opposition to the regime from within their places of banishment.
