Niẓāmī-i ʻIlmīyah-i va Adabīyah, Rūznāmah-i (Qājār) – Collection of 2 years, including 16 issues

Forty years after the publication of the first Iranian military journal, the first specialised journal in the field of military sciences was published. This journal was initially named "Rūznāmah-i Niẓāmī-i Dawlat-i ʻAlīyah-i Īrān" and later changed its name to "Rūznāmah-i Niẓāmī-i ʻIlmīyah-i va Adabīyah". The military journal "Rūznāmah-i Niẓāmī-i ʻIlmīyah-i va Adabīyah" was founded by Mīrzā Ḥusayn Khān-i Sipahsālār on 29 Dhu al-Qadah 1293 H.Q. in Tehran and was published at Itāmāzhur School. The main editor of this journal was Muhandis ʻAbbās, who worked under the supervision of Sipahsālār to carry out the assigned tasks. Monsieur Lisot was also reportedly his assistant and held the position of deputy editor.

In the military newspaper periodical, one can read articles, reports, and news related to the military. In the editorial of the first issue, which they have named the official announcement, they mention the purpose of publishing this newspaper as instilling military education and elevating the general public to higher levels of scientific knowledge, so that the personnel of the Army administration and the Ministry of War do not remain ignorant of the new military sciences and preferred laws of war inventions.

The military newspaper is considered a starting point in the history of the Iranian press in some aspects. Some of the features of this publication will be mentioned: The first point is the establishment of the editorial board at that time, which was referred to as "Majmae Mokhassas" (Special Assembly). The second is that in the military newspaper, they explicitly wrote: "Since this newspaper is written in the common language and soldier's jargon, its expressions and phrases will be outside of the secretarial language." This is unique in its kind. The general call for writing and submitting articles, initiated by the founders of this newspaper, marks a turning point in the history of journalism in Iran. Their style and approach also reflect the fact that domestic press and publications were not the models for the editors of this newspaper. Rather, they learned practical journalism from the press of other countries, especially the Ottoman Empire. Among other notable points is the audience of this newspaper, which was initially affiliated with the military. As they explicitly stated, 400 copies were printed for their use, but the interest in reading it outside of the military has emerged. The first competition among the press and the war of words in Iran was also facilitated by the scientific and literary military newspaper. The news of the publication of the scientific newspaper in the military newspaper and the friendly admonition of this newspaper led to a war of words. The criticism of the scientific newspaper's manager about the name and content of the military newspaper, and the response of the military newspaper to this criticism, led to the first competition among the press and the war of words in Iranian media.

The reasons for the suspension of the military newspaper are debatable, and scholars of the self have-written articles based on their own perspectives. Nevertheless, twenty months after the cessation of the publication of the military newspaper, "Mirrīkh" became its successor and tried to continue the path of the military newspaper by addressing similar topics.
