Hamṣāyah-yi Daryā: nāmʹāvarān-i ʻarṣah-yi farhang va hunar-i Bandarrīg

Hamṣāyah-yi Daryā is a biographical and cultural encyclopaedia dedicated to the poets, writers, and artists of Bandar Rig, a historic port on the Persian Gulf coast in Būshihr Province. Compiled by Muḥammad Maẕkūrī, the volume documents the lives and legacies of individuals who shaped this coastal community's cultural identity in the twentieth century. Structured in three sections — research, poets, and writers and artists — it opens with scholarly studies of two seminal figures: Ḥājj Ghulāmḥusayn Bandarrīgī, a constitutionalist poet of the Qajar period, and Shāyiq, a celebrated local bard. Subsequent chapters offer biographical profiles with samples of verse and prose. Appendices preserve rare primary documents, including a letter to Muẓaffar al-Dīn Shāh and a gallery of artworks. Drawing on field research, oral accounts, and archival sources, the volume recovers voices long overlooked in Iranian literary scholarship, serving researchers of regional Persian culture and Gulf heritage.
