Safarnāmah-i Marv

Safarnāmah-i Marv provides a critical primary source account of the geopolitical and military events that defined the borders of Īrān in the 19th century. Written by Muḥammad Lashgarʹnavīs Nūrī, a scribe and military official who served under Ḥamzah Mīrzā Ḥishmat al-Dawlah, the text details the disastrous campaigns against the Turkmens and the subsequent separation of the Marv region from Īrān.
