Īl-i Sanjābī va mujāhadāt-i millī-i Īrān: khāṭirāt-i ʻAlī Akbar Khān Sanjābī, Sardār Muqtadir

This volume presents the memoirs of ʻAlī Akbar Khān Sanjābī, known as Sardār Muqtadir, one of the foremost chieftains of the Sanjābī tribe of Kirmānshāhān in western Īrān. Compiled, edited, and annotated by his nephew, the eminent jurist and nationalist Dr Karīm Sanjābī, the work recounts the tribe's formation, its leaders, and its turbulent fortunes through the Constitutional period and the First World War. The narrative dwells especially on the Sanjābīs' armed struggles against Ottoman, Russian, and British forces along the western frontier, their migration into Ottoman territory, and their eventual return. Beyond its value as a record of national resistance, the text offers a rare inside view of how a tribal society operated, governed itself, and negotiated with central authority.
